Crews and hubs
Crews are about building. Hubs are about place.
No one is limited to their area. Join any crew anywhere in the world, and belong to a hub if one is near you.
Crews
A team that ships together.
A crew is 5 to 15 builders, local or online, with members from anywhere. It is led by a Crew Lead who leads by working alongside, and serves a one-year term.
- Join any crew in the world. Your home crew is where you ship, pray and are accountable.
- Local crews form around a place. Online crews form around a calling or focus: church tech, AI, payments, a language or time zone.
- Men's, women's or mixed. Each crew chooses.
- Contribute to any project and visit any crew's Build Night. Home crew is about belonging, not a fence.
Hubs
Community for every builder in a city.
A hub is in-person community for every builder nearby, whatever crew they belong to: monthly gatherings, demo days, worship, meals and church relationships.
Hubs start where builders gather. Once a city has about three crews' worth of builders, a hub can launch.
The whole network also meets online each quarter for demo day and Commissioning, so builders who live far from any hub still share in the movement.
Build Night
Plain on purpose: it's what we actually do.
Crews meet weekly, in person or online. Facilitating a Build Night can rotate among the crew, and everyone leads something.
- Open in prayer. Commit the work to God, with the Builder's Prayer or the crew's own words.
- Build together. Beginners, engineers and product people side by side.
- Show something. Every session ends with a demo, a merged PR, or a deploy.
- Close in the Upper Room. What we shipped, who we served, who needs help, and what we're giving.
Start a crew
You do not need permission.
Crews start themselves. If a group keeps the five principles, it is a GLORi Builders Crew. Every other choice belongs to the crew: what to build, pace, meeting day and format, who leads, and your own local partnerships with churches, schools and ministries.
- Gather a few builders: 5 to 15 is a crew.
- Choose men's, women's, mixed or online.
- Open in prayer, build, show something, close in prayer.
- Post your progress to the network ship log each month.
